Why I get out of bed every morning.
by compound complex inbecause someone needs my help.. as a jw -- you can relate -- i truly believed that what everyone really needed was the kingdom hope and its eventual reality.
you know, the hope that does not lead to disappointment.
of course, if anyone needed practical help with a task or getting through some difficulty, most of us realized that was part of being a helpful and caring friend (or family member).. at nearly seventy years of age -- no, i didn't enter the promised kingdom in my healthful and vibrant youth -- my getting out of bed isn't so bad.

Thanks, days of future passed, for the poignant reply.
WOW! Ice cream sundaes. It has to be the best, I'm sure!
I get the issues with being robbed by external forces (I quit college to become a pioneer), as well as those from within that sap our will. But there's hope. I mentioned on another thread that I have been a teacher since 15 years old. It started with piano and later included art. There's a way you can get past the stalemate of inaction.
Will be back asap . . .

You're welcome, Kas12:
The first in my family, I came into the truth over 50 years ago, and my nieces and nephews, one child, and grandchildren left way before me. We have a good relationship.
As cofty so well said, calm and patience on your part is important. It's hard for us older folks to put all the pieces together and then act on what we see.

Welcome, Kas12, to the forum -- your first post!
Whatever a person's age, there's always confusion about what to do in something this major. You'll get lots of good insight and help here.
Best wishes.

by BluesBrother init is christmas morning ....the weather outside looks cold grey and dismal (typical britain in winter ) the house is quiet as my wife gets on with something.
.... the street is silent, as dead as the grave.

Yes, no man's land.
Wishing all of you well, while I digest everything I have just now read on BB's thread. It surely helps reading about how you manage.
I'm sitting a beautiful home -- quite alone -- while friends, clients, family celebrate Christmas well out of my proximity. I had a lovely dinner with a friend last night, and we exchanged gifts. Nice. Today, I am away from the din of my "boarding house," where I rent a room. Sometimes I want company, sometimes I want to be alone, here at my DELL laptop. Normal feelings, I imagine.
Well, Merry Christmas! Anyone doing Boxing Day? Just read up on it now and the stoning of St. Stephen.

Thanks, NotNew, for the not, not new word. From GOOGLE dictionary:mis·an·drymiˈsandrē/noun- dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against men (i.e., the male sex)."her brand of feminism is just poorly disguised misandry"
